What To Do With Your Pistol Caliber Carbine

Posted by on

PCC or Pistol Caliber Carbine is a new provisional division in USPSA (United States Practical Shooting Association), and it seems to be growing in popularity.

The division is any carbine platform that takes detachable magazines and is chambered in a pistol caliber. The most popular carbine seems to be one built from the AR-15 platform, chambered in 9mm and accepting Glock magazines.

A few other options are also available:

  • Sig MPX

  • Kel-Tec Sub-2000

  • CZ Scorpion

The AR platform seems to be most prevalent. Just a few months ago, there were only a couple people shooting this division in a local match I attended. At a more recent match, there were twelve people shooting in the PCC Division, which leads me to believe that it could be growing.

If you've got one in the safe you've been waiting for the opportunity to use, here it is. I personally enjoy pistol shooting, but I am aware that it is not for everyone and that may be keeping other shooters from competing or showing up to an event. PCC is great work around for those guys.

Get out to your local match and enjoy!
